Marketing Finance Analyst
Primary responsibilities include internal revenue and volume reporting development, financial analysis and providing ad hoc decision support to functions across the enterprise.
Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance or Economics required.
5 years of experience providing financial and/or decision support analysis
Experience in developing financial models and economic analyses
Prior experience in the railroad or transportation industry
Strong leadership and matrix management skills
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
Excellent organizational and project management skills to meet deadline-oriented tasks
Strong business and financial acumen
Excellent analytical skills
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Leads ongoing economic indicator project to research and identify leading economic indicators that are historically in close correlation with Company performance. Performs analysis to provide Management with leading economic information to support projected volumes and related capital requirements.
Performs advanced level statistical analysis through utilization of the ISIS system of Company business results, projections and external indicators. Designs and compiles Management reporting packages to convey results of the analyses to Marketing, Finance and upper Management.
Conducts benchmarking projects and competitive analysis to measure Company performance in comparison to other Class I railroads in support of the Marketing portion of the quarterly earnings call presentation Develops quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily multi-level reporting to measure and identify revenue and volume trends, variances to prior periods and forecast and to support competitive analysis.
Conducts detailed analysis of revenue and volume trends at customer and commodity levels to support. Marketing Vice Presidents in their development of variance analyses for quarterly Enterprise meetings, Accounting support, Board of Director meetings, the quarterly earnings call and quarterly revenue notes to the Financial Statements.
Responsible for coordination and continuing development of the quarterly Enterprise presentation. Supports the quarterly revenue and carloads forecasts and the annual long-term strategic planning process.
Provides cross-functional support within department as required.
