Revenue and Receivables Systems Analyst
This position will have a broad scope of responsibilities related to accounts receivable and revenue accounting. The Analyst will be responsible for executing a 3rd party software to optimize cash application. The Analyst will work with other functional areas (e.g. Sales and Marketing, Revenue Management, and Legal) to resolve customer and vendor disputes and exceptions. The Analyst will also provide support to the Revenue Accounting team in the monthly close and account reconciliation process. This position will also be responsible for reviewing new and existing contracts to ensure proper accruals are recorded.
Lead the implementation of the cash application tool in the US and Mexico;
Ongoing management and execution of the cash application tool to increase automation of cash application for the US and Mexico. Analyze and build rules based on customer remittance information;
Serve as liaison to 3rd party vendor and subject matter expert for cash application;
Work extensively with Revenue Management, Sales and Marketing, and Transportation departments to resolve discrepancies related to all types of revenue movements;
Perform root-cause analysis to identify solutions to recurring issues;
Ability to read and analyze freight price quotes and contracts in order to research and resolve disputes with customers in US and Mexico;
Identify and propose system enhancements to gain efficiencies and/or resolve issues;
Serve as liaison to Information Technology and subject matter expert for system (SAP,MCS, etc) defects, enhancements, and testing;
Read and interpret contracts to ensure accruals are established correctly;
Perform account reconciliation for revenue deduction accruals, payments, and adjustments;
Review invoices processed for revenue deductions and perform posting to vendor in order to release payment in SAP;
Reconcile monthly intercompany payment for haulage services;
Adhere to stated policies and internal controls;

Bachelor’s Degree preferably in finance, accounting, business or related field;
5 years of cash application system administration and/or accounts payable/receivable, revenue analysis experience preferably in railroad or transportation industry;
Or equivalent combination of experience and education.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Extensive experience interfacing with customers or IT business developers.
Strong problem resolution, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, etc).
Knowledge of basic accounting/financial principles.
SAP Finance experience.
2 years of Accounting experience.
