Supervisor PTC Assessment Control
This position is responsible for managing the PTC Assessment Control Analyst team in the lab and works closely with the Field test teams. These test teams are responsible for the day to day testing efforts to include the development, execution, and review of all test case scenarios used to validate the functional requirements of the KCS’ PTC system. This position will provide leadership and subject matter expertise pertaining to systems test management, resolution of technical issues, regression testing, and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders relating to test execution. This individual will be responsible for the review, documentation, and reporting of all test results at the close of each testing cycle to KCS Senior Management.
Develops, administers, and executes PTC Test Cases that test the KCS PTC hardware and software components from end to end.
Conducts in depth analysis to troubleshoot PTC hardware and software communication issues.
Documents and communicates the testing results and progress against plans, taking corrective action as necessary.
Collaborates with KCS vendors and contractors on a regular basis to ensure all hardware and software defects and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Works with both internal and external business streams to produce project schedules in order to complete projects on time and within budget. Allocates resources based on priorities and delivery expectations.
Provides leadership and direction for all test team members. Develop individual plans for each team member with assigned responsibilities, time estimates, and completion dates of all testing activities.

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or technical school degree in Computer Science, Communications, Information Systems, Engineering or related field
Six (6) years relevant professional experience
or equivalent combination of education and experience
Two (2) years in network or communications management experience, or relevant technology related experience
Five (5) years railroad or transportation experience
Positive Train Control (PTC) experience in any of the following areas: Implementation, Installation, Integration, Testing, Project Management, Release Management, and Locomotive Components.
Understanding of Railroad Operational Processes as it relates to Locomotive, Signal, Communication Processes, Train Dispatching, Telecom, Signal, and understanding of General Code of Operating Rules.
Understanding of test processes, methodologies and hands-on testing experience. Ability to provide technical leadership to project resources to meet testing deadlines and objectives. Ability to consult with and develop technical resources for methods, procedures, and standards to use during testing. Capacity to review project deliverables for completeness, accuracy, quality, and compliance with established project standards. Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project and HPALM utilization experience
